I'm very proud of this bench, being that it is my first real building project. It is pretty awesome to bring new life to something that no one else wants. My materials included, (1) Wood to build the base (2 - 4X4X8 & 1 - 2X4X8), (2) The skis came from a thrift store and I was able to purchase the 5 pairs for $30 & (3) I used a couple of the bindings to decorate the top of the posts.
I built it this Saturday and ever since I have had this urge to continue building, upcycling, breathing new life into things. I believe my next project is going to entail using old discarded shipping pallets. My goal is for the majority of my materials to be reused. I'm hoping to be able to construct a small floor lamp with shelves. Please comment any ideas or suggestions.
